SEGA Mega-CD Model 1 Full Capacitor Replacement – Recap Service

Comprehensive capacitor replacement service for the front-loading SEGA Mega-CD Model 1. These valuable systems contain several ageing electronic assemblies and benefit from careful inspection alongside capacitor replacement.

What’s included

• Replacement of applicable electrolytic capacitors in the Mega-CD Model 1
• Inspection of the mainboard, power section and drive-related electronics
• Cleaning of leakage or residue where present
• Inspection for corrosion and visibly stressed solder joints
• Power, audio, video, disc-loading and playback testing

Console required: send the Mega-CD Model 1 unit. A compatible Mega Drive is not normally required unless an intermittent compatibility fault needs investigating.

How the mail-in service works

1. Purchase the service online.
2. Pack the console securely and send it to the address supplied after ordering. Please do not use a padded envelope.
3. The console is inspected, recapped and tested.
4. Tracked UK return delivery is included in the price.

Important information

A recap is preventative restoration work and does not guarantee repair of unrelated existing faults. If the console is already faulty, please contact us before ordering. Any additional work will be discussed before it is carried out.

This service includes a six-month warranty covering the replacement capacitors and our workmanship. It does not cover unrelated components, accidental damage, liquid damage or faults outside the work completed.
