Professional ceramic capacitor replacement service for the SEGA Game Gear, covering the main board and audio board to address common age-related sound, display and power problems.

Common symptoms

  • No sound or very low volume
  • Dim, faded or difficult-to-view original display
  • No power or unstable operation
  • Unit powers on and immediately switches off

What’s included

  • Replacement of the relevant ageing capacitors with quality ceramic components
  • Cleaning of leaked electrolyte and affected board areas where practical
  • Main-board and audio-board inspection
  • Power, sound, controls and cartridge testing
  • Tracked UK return postage

Please note: a recap repairs capacitor-related faults but cannot guarantee recovery from severe corrosion, damaged PCB tracks, failed custom ICs or faults within the original LCD panel. If unrelated damage is found, we will contact you before carrying out extra chargeable work.

Turnaround time

Repairs are normally completed within 1–2 working days after receipt, subject to inspection, parts availability and current workload.

Warranty

The repair, installed parts and workmanship are covered for 12 months against repair-related faults. Accidental damage, liquid damage, impact damage, misuse, normal battery ageing and unrelated faults are not covered.

Before posting your device

Send the main device only unless the product description or FrameRate Builds specifically asks for accessories. Use a sturdy box with cushioning on every side; a padded envelope is not suitable protection for electronics.
