CleanAmp Duo requires a compatible dual-speaker configuration. If the selected shell cannot support it, we will contact you before assembly to agree a suitable shell or audio alternative.

Choose the console source

Send My Own Console: after ordering, safely package and send your Game Gear main unit using the instructions supplied. Do not include games, batteries or accessories unless requested.

FrameRate-Supplied Console: we source and restore an original SEGA motherboard. These are professionally restored original consoles—not newly manufactured SEGA hardware. The selected cosmetic and upgrade parts are new.

Choose the shell

Standard and special-edition shells are subject to supplier availability. Images are illustrative colour guides; shade, transparency and printed details can vary slightly between production runs. Matching controls and a suitable glass lens are included.

For a different control or lens combination, reply to your order confirmation. We will confirm availability and any additional cost before starting the build.

Compatibility and assessment

Motherboard revisions, corrosion and previous repairs vary between original Game Gears. Every board is inspected before assembly. Certain Majesco VA4/VA5 and Taiwan-board revisions are not compatible with the Hispeedido screen used in the Essential build. If a supplied console is unsuitable for the selected configuration, we will explain the available options before proceeding.

Severe corrosion, damaged circuit traces, missing components or unrelated faults may require additional repair. No additional chargeable work is undertaken without approval.
